World Book Day is an annual event which takes place on April 23rd in most places around the world and on the first Thursday in March in the United Kingdom. This day was established to encourage people to get engaged with literature and to promote not only reading but also publishing. This event holiday is also known as International Day of the Book, World Book Days, and World Book and Copyright Day.

In 1995, at United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)’s General Conference, it was decided that April 23rd would be named World Book and Copyright Day as a way to pay tribute to books, to the authors who wrote them, and to the copyright laws that protect them. It was also determined that this day would be good for encouraging everyone to read and enjoy the pleasures that go along with it. April 23rd was chosen because that is the date when Miguel de Cervantes, William Shakespeare, Vladimir Nabokov, Maurice Druon and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died; all of them are famous authors.

Ideas to celebrate World Book Day 2019? What better way than to read one of Joy Spraycar’s creative works. Perhaps you have aspirations to publish your own creative effort? Are you a little short of your goal? Do you suffer from writer’s block? Did you know that Joy can help you with that, too?

Tired of writing in circles or flying by the seat of your pants when you write? Joy Spraycar can help you get through those obstacles and get a firm grip on the goals, motivations, and more in your work.

Joy Spraycar explains that “Pantsers often spend more time ‘writing in circles’ or doing massive rewrites.” Joy offers a way for Pantsers to ask themselves just enough questions to help them get a firm grip on the Goals, Motivations, Conflicts, Characterizations, Settings, and Main Plot Points. By answering these questions, Joy can help you write a first draft more quickly and one that requires fewer rewrites, all while keeping alive the ‘excitement of discovery’ that Panters love.

Coming in 2019, Joy Spraycar’s soon-to-be-published book, “Plotting for Pantsers,” which is based on several years’ efforts and real-world testing in writing workshops and seminars throughout Utah, will soon be available for purchase.

Plotting for Pantsers is sure to be a ‘must have’ for writers of all ages and abilities!
